Boris Vallejo

If anyone proves that oil painting is a good skill to have, it would be Boris (and, okay, it is). He attains a degree of photorealism that is often stunning, and has a keen eye for beauty. If you don't know who this artist is, go to a book store and check out the Gor books, or the Conan novels. Also, Boris now seems to have calendars featuring his art available.

Patrick Nagel

H.R. Giger

A man who validates the airbrush as an instrument of fine art. His works are creepy and and cool at the same time, and let's face it, the ALIEN was a really great design. (Go Ridley, go!)

Alberto Vargas

Vargas was like the Boris of the 30's, except that he also worked with an airbrush (versus oils). Although many of his paintings are pinup style stuff, there are certainly gems among them.

Jennifer Connelly
