temptation

she came over
yesterday &
talked to me
blew my mind away w/
such simple sweet words & eyes
god those eyes &
though her body belied it

she was beautiful
lithe like pearlets on a web
singing with the whistling wind
opening a chapter into a heart
spelling lst
     like an echo
               an echo
screaming to let me understand
how you feel
cause we should be to- too
yes we should be
but how can we be
how can we be how
                    can we be

you smile through a mouth
scraping the edges of death
back to life with
one pucker
          one blow

she came over last night
and smiled me back to life again
those willowy fingers crossed
then undone undulating under
          her awaiting chin

she came over yesterday
told me where i should be
told me where i should be
              where i should be

               &
she said it wasn't easy
no
it wasn't easy
but she knew and said she'd
seen it in me
said she'd seen it in me
in my green grey flashes
night pawing at me
like a tiger's breath
me scrambling
to catch her &
the thousand kisses
broken into pieces
landing all over her hair
